Watching the news can make anyone feel helpless these days. Fear is a powerfully disabling force. But thanks to The Preemptive Love Coalition, the non-profit on the ground in war torn parts of the world, fear has met its match on the streets.
Describing themselves as "a global movement of peacemakers changing the way we engage the world's most polarizing conflicts by confronting fear with acts of love" - the Preemptive Love Coalition goes into conflict zones and provides things like lifesaving heart surgeries for children, emergency relief for families victimized by ISIS, empowering grants for small business owners and education for at-risk children.
After nearly a decade working in places like Syria, Iraq, Iran and Libya, they have provided 2,200 surgeries for children, more than 1 million pounds of food for victims of ISIS and have helped displaced persons start 95 small businesses.
The Coalition believes that fear is at the root of all violence and that "in the face of terror, you can confront fear with preemptive love and remake the world." It's hard to think of a more inspiring way to take on violence prevention.
