The Human Kind Podcast #THKP

What is "The Human Kind Podcast"?

Considering the evidence of racial disharmony that still stands in this country, The Human Kind Podcast is a new 12-part podcast series hoping to shine an intelligent, peaceful, informative light on race relations throughout the country.

We record at the iconic Delicious Vinyl Radio studio in the heart of Los Angeles. This is a grassroots, informational piece that pairs various members of the community including rap artists, political refugees, race relations specialists and stay-at-home moms discussing race per their own experiences and opinions.

The goal of the podcast is to raise awareness about all races and perspectives in the hopes that accurate information and understanding will replace hate and violence against all humanity.

How This Works:

Two strangers of different racial or ethnic backgrounds go into a recording booth together and have a conversation about race.

Seems simple, right?

We found that beautiful things came out of these dialogues and that very few people seemed to be having them naturally in their own lives.

Every guest left feeling that they had learned something cool and made a new friend of a different race.

Who We Are:

8th Wonder Media Group was founded by Detroit native Vidal Marsh. As the youngest of eight children, he naturally has strong sense of community and loyalty and says these values manifest through his work. His previous experience as a television producer lends itself to developing quality content focused on community outreach, childhood education and social responsibility. Member of the Producer’s Guild of America.

The Allegory Media Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 production company founded in 2016 by movie and television professionals Katherine Brown (producer) and Megahn Perry (writer/producer) with the mission of creating entertainment that helps make the world a better place. Megahn and Katherine decided to use their media skills for “good” rather than “evil” and to tell stories that matter.

The seeds of The Human Kind Podcast were planted back in 2010 when Vidal and Megahn worked together on a television project. Conversations about race, inclusion and recognition were commonplace in the office and, after years of keeping up on social media, Vidal approached Megahn about taking their private conversations public and engaging others on the topic of race.
